To apply for financial assistance (Ontario Works) call 519-883-2100 or apply online.

Financial assistance may include:

• Funds to cover food, shelter, clothing and other household items.
• Monthly Ontario Drug Benefits card to cover the cost of prescribed medications.
• Other benefits.
• Emergency assistance

You may be able to get financial assistance if:

• You are a resident of Ontario.
• Your status in Canada is verified.
• Your income does not exceed the total allowable income amount.
• Your assets do not exceed the prescribed limits.
• If you are living with your parents, you have a dependent or you are not financially independent.
• You are not a single person currently subject to a period of ineligibility.
• You are not a single person incarcerated full time.
• You are not a single person less than 16 years old without dependents.
• You are not a single person without dependents who is receiving a loan under the Ministry of Colleges and Universities Act or the Canada Student Loan Act.
